Calgary office was requested to assist with an evaluation of Harmonic content and equipment reliability at this facility following the implementation of multiple VFD's. Upon completion of our site audit, a 5th Harmonic Static Filter was specified, installed and tested to alleviate voltage distortion problems related to isolated onsite generation.

Calgary office has been involved in many studies to
determine condition of power system quality. These studies
relate to actual concerns with equipment reliability
or failure as well as baseline measurements for due
diligence.
Our normal approach is to install sophisticated field
monitoring equipment over a period of time, review and
analyze results and submit a report with summary observations
and recommendations. Our equipment is capable of capturing
all power anomalies including impulse activities in
the micro-second range as well as harmonics and voltage
sag-surge.
Upon completion of report ARX has, as requested by
the client, implemented corrective remedial actions
such as filters, surge protection, arrestors or other
mitigating devices. Normally follow up measurements
are taken to confirm performance of equipment (see QiP2
Surge Pack under products).

At this facility computer loads has created distortion
on the system which had exceeded tolerable limits. Measurements
were then taken at several locations within the building
and a program initiated to install passive harmonic
cancellation equipment on a "worst case first" basis.
The harmonic content was measured before and after
installation with performance confirmed in all cases.
In finality the harmonic levels were reduced as per
design and the equipment continues to provide trouble
free service.
continues to provide maintenance test
and inspections services as well as technical support
to the new property managers. Now managed by Oxford
Property Group.
